We rang the googled campgrounds and found one that is on the lake; so much more relaxing near water, isn’t it? Arriving in the dark, we found our site amongst the wide-open spaces; no one else within koowee of us.
We awake to a beautiful winter’s day with a view across still water reflecting the scene across the way. Wow! Blue skies. We have had so much rain lately it is getting depressing.
A walk around the campground reveals every van is a Jayco. This place is invested with them. Reception tells us the campground is owned by “Mr Jayco” himself. So that’s why. At christmas and school holidays, the campground is full of families. There is much to do here for kids.
Lyn tries out the new Weber BBQ for lunch and it proves very efficient and worth using points to get possession of it. BBQ veggies are great. We spend the afternoon enjoying sitting and relaxing in the winter sunshine. Trying out the new number plate “GR8L1F” was a bit of a buzz too.
The night time is taken up watching the penultimate stage of the Tour de France where Cadel virtually wins the event for the first time. A great feeling, but he should have done it when I was there last year.
Sunday is a bit wet again as we pack and drive around the lake to the town to try out a bakery. Not really something to write home about, but we will be back for some more sun when it arrives in summer.
